Much more than a method: a living hub of TEC wisdom for trainers & TEC community

FROM PRACTICE TO LEARNING: an investigation on trainer’s practices that facilitate learning within international voluntary programs
The research aimed at analysing the practices and methods used in the “training evaluation cycle (TEC)” activities of volunteer programs at the European level and to verify whether they could be used in other intercultural learning contexts, not necessarily related to the third sector and volunteering.
In order to give scientific rigor to the research, the authors chose to map educational practices in TEC, identifying trainers in different contexts and countries but within the same program linked to the promotion of international volunteering and solidarity (EVS and ESC).
The practices were read and analysed through the lenses of the main pedagogical, sociological and psychological theories that are supporting the non-formal education field of action.
More specifically, the research consists of 4 main parts:
- An introduction which includes of a short summary of the evolution of the EU programs supporting and fostering international volunteering
- A theorical introduction, where the main pedagogical, sociological, psychological theories are summarised
- The analysis of 24 practices, through the lenses of the above-mentioned theories
- A conclusion, identifying the main steps to transfer the practices to other educational fields
